Precautions for Use And Daily Maintenance of Laser Cleaning Machine

Feb 27, 2025

There are many things to pay attention to before, during and after using a laser cleaning machine. Daily maintenance of the laser cleaning machine is also very important. This article lists the precautions for use and maintenance knowledge of the laser cleaning machine, aiming to help customers better use and maintain their laser cleaning machine.

Attentions of using laser cleaning machine

Before use

1. Confirm whether the power supply voltage of the equipment on site meets the requirements of the equipment.

2. Connect compressed air as required, and the compressed air pressure is 0.4-0.6MPa.

3. Confirm that the light-emitting switch of the cleaning gun head is in the loose state to prevent the switch from closing and clicking the "Enable" button on the touch screen to emit light by mistake.

4. Before and after using the equipment, check whether there is dust on the protective lens. If there is dust, wipe it with alcohol test paper in time. Keeping the protective lens clean can extend the service life of the lens.

5. The lens protection cover must be removed before emitting light to prevent the laser from damaging the lens cover and causing damage to the protective lens.

6. Since the optical fiber is placed on the cabinet, the optical fiber cleaning head should be rotated appropriately in the direction of the torque of the optical fiber when it is collected and released during use to prevent the optical fiber at the tail of the cleaning gun head from being twisted off due to excessive torque.

7. If the dust generated by cleaning on site is large, reasonable dust collection measures need to be added to prevent the dust from affecting the service life of the protective lens.

During use

8. Wear laser protective glasses as specified during use to prevent reflected light from entering the eyes and causing damage.

9. When using, the cleaning gun head must not be directed toward anyone to prevent accidental light from causing personal injury.

10. The cleaning gun head must be handled with care during the entire use process. Prevent collisions from causing internal motor displacement and lens damage.

11. When the equipment is in use, no debris can be piled up within 2 meters around it to avoid affecting the ventilation effect of the equipment.

12. During use, the optical fiber at the tail of the cleaning gun head should be lifted up, and it is forbidden to bend too much to cause the optical fiber to break. For fixed-point cleaning, a suspension frame can be made to suspend the optical fiber in the air, and for mobile cleaning, the optical fiber can be placed on the arm.

13.During use, do not pull the optical fiber vigorously to prevent the cleaning gun head signal line from being broken, affecting the swing of the galvanometer motor and causing the light output/distance measurement/temperature measurement and other functions to fail, while also reducing the risk of optical fiber damage.

14. When cleaning the light-returning material, the light-emitting direction should be kept at an angle of less than 70 degrees to the workpiece. The light-emitting direction is prohibited from being perpendicular to the workpiece to prevent the reflected light from returning along the optical path and causing damage to the laser fiber and internal module.

15. During use, if the light needs to be stopped intermittently and the intermittent time is long, it is necessary to cancel the "enable" button in time and turn it on when the laser is emitted to prevent the accidental light emission from causing danger.

16. The water-cooling equipment should set the chilled water and normal temperature water temperature according to the cooling temperature required by the laser. When the ambient temperature is below 0℃, antifreeze should be added to the cooling water to prevent the chiller and laser from freezing. Before turning on the equipment for the first time every day, the chiller should be allowed to work to the required temperature (usually above 24℃) before turning on the laser. Prevent the laser from causing a low temperature protection alarm due to the low initial temperature.

17. When the equipment indicates an abnormal red light, such as the red light indicating a point instead of a straight line, it is prohibited to emit laser light at this time. The laser light can only be emitted after the problem is repaired to prevent the abnormal optical path from emitting laser light and causing damage to other lenses.

After use

18. After using the equipment, turn off the power supply in time, wipe the protective lens, and cover the lens protective cover.

19. Be careful not to break the optical fiber when winding it after use.

20. Regularly perform maintenance work such as changing water and removing dust on the equipment.

1. Before using the equipment every day, observe whether the lens protection lens is clean. If there is dust, wipe it with alcohol paper or dust-free cloth dipped in alcohol in time. If there is a lot of dust on site, it is also necessary to stop the light briefly during use to check the pollution of the protection lens in time. Wipe the protection lens again after the equipment is used. Ensuring that the lens is clean can extend the service life of the lens.

2. After using the equipment every day, blow the dust off the cleaning head and the surface of the equipment with compressed air.

3. The cooling water of the chiller is replaced every 3 months, and bottled pure water for daily drinking can be used. The cooling water needs to be drained when the equipment is not used for a long time. When the ambient temperature is below 0℃, antifreeze should be added to the cooling water appropriately.

4. Dust the inside of the equipment once every 2-3 months, mainly for the cabinet where the laser and chiller are installed. Open the door panels on both sides of the cabinet and blow it clean with compressed air.

5. The protection lens is a consumable item and can be replaced according to the actual use situation. If the surface of the lens is severely damaged and the laser intensity is weakened, it can be replaced. If it does not affect the intensity of the laser, it can continue to be used. When replacing the protective lens, move the device to a dust-free place, keep your hands clean, and clean the dust on the cleaning head before replacement to prevent dust from falling on the inner protective lens during replacement.

6. Wipe the cleaning gun head and cabinet surface regularly according to the on-site use. To avoid too much oil accumulation that is difficult to clean and affects the use effect.
